Let me start off by saying that my family and I our bless by listening to your show. As a mom, I try to catch the Wednesday morning show with Janet Paschal and Friends as it is uplifting. The last time I was really able to listen to it was when Janet was talking about breast cancer. It was the first day of the series and the one question stuck in my head that she asked was “How young is too young?”

Jesus has laid it in my heart to tell my story but I have been putting it off. With me being disobediant, I’ve not been able to sleep for awhile so this is my story.

My oldest daughter, who is now eight years old, was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 18 months. When she was only one, a mass had started to develop in her left breast. I had to change pediatricians several times before I found one that would actually listen to me and be concerned about my daughter’s life. Once I did find one, she sent us to the endocrinologist at Baptist Hospital. There I found myself stuck in a rut again because the doctor was trying to blow it off and act like it was nothing. After several visits to Baptist I finally requested to go to Chapel Hill. After several trips there that is when we found out she had cancer.

At 18 months old she went thru a needle biopsy and a core asperation so the mass could be tested. Yes, at this point I had lost all faith in God. I blamed him and myself for what my daughter had to go thru. But thru some point my faith had returned. We went to Chapel Hill for about nine to ten months straight. Finally it was decision time. To weather or not to have surgery. This was the hardest decision that I have ever made. I chose for her to have the surgery and her biological father told me I was being selfish and was only thinking of myself.

When she was 2 1/2 years old, she went thru a massectomy. But only thru the Grace of God, lots of prayers and people believing that she was going to be healed we had made it thru. The mass after surgery was diagnosed as benign. She never had to go thru radiation or chemo and even came home the same day of surgery. This Septemeber she will be cancer free for 6 years.

Thank you for letting me tell you my story. I hope it may help someone else. There is hope and God does heal.
